About me!

In my sustained investigation, I sought to explore the emotional connection between humans and animals. Drawing from my own experiences, I based many of my pieces on the deep bond I’ve always felt with animals. To guide my investigation I used the guiding question: how can I convey the emotional bond between humans and animals, through the use of color and composition? My goal was not only to illustrate this relationship but also to highlight a connection's significance and the profound impact it has on the human psyche. Growing up surrounded by animals, I feel that this connection has greatly shaped who I am. From cats to horses, I’ve always felt a deep emotional resonance with animals. Through my portfolio, I aim to express the emotional gravity that animals hold in the lives of many and how these bonds can transform our outlook on life. Through drawing in charcoal, colored pencil, and pencil, as well as, painting with oil paint; I used these different mediums to show specific instances of connection. I used different subjects of animals and ages of humans to convey the idea that this bond lasts throughout a lifetime.
